Kia QYi SUV To Be Launched Next Year, Maruti Brezza And Hyundai Venue To Compete

The new SUV, codenamed Kia QYi, will compete with SUVs like Maruti Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV300 and Ford EcoSport. This will be Kia Motors' first sub-compact SUV and third car in Market.

Kia Motors is preparing to introduce a new sub-compact SUV in the market. This small SUV from Kia will compete in SUVs like Maruti Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV300 and Ford EcoSport in the market. The company has confirmed that the new SUV, codenamed Kia QYi, will be launched by the end of 2020. This will be Kia's first sub-compact SUV and third car in market. Currently, only one Kia car comes with a Celtos SUV in the Indian market. The company will launch Carnival MPV early next year, after which QYi will be launched.

Many pictures of Kia during testing of this new SUV have been revealed. These leaked photos reveal some details of the SUV. Reports said that QYi's platform, its features and engine will be the Hyundai Venue. This means that this SUV will come in two petrol engines and one diesel engine. These three engines will be BS6 compliant.

Power
The Hyundai Venue features a 1.2-liter petrol engine, which generates 82bhp power and 114Nm peak torque. The other is a 1.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine, which generates 118bhp of power and 172Nm of torque. The diesel engine is 1.4-liter, which generates 89bhp power and 220Nm torque.

 Gearbox
Transmission of this new SUV from Kia is also expected from the Hyundai Venue. These include 5-speed manual, 6-speed manual and 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. A 6-speed automatic transmission can also be optioned with the diesel engine of the new SUV.

 Features
Like Celtos, Kia's first car in India, this sub-compact SUV is also expected to get many comfort and latest connectivity features. Kia UVO connectivity technology will be available in it. Apart from this, the SUV can get features such as 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, climate control with sunroof and remote operation.
